The weekend of 29.10.-31.10.2010, it should once again to Berlin . Go
After some research we found again this time a real bargain: The Best Western Airport Hotel Fontane 4 **** (near Schoenefeld airport) is located in Mahlow, which already belongs to Brandenburg. About two weeks prior to booked arrival, cost us the double room for two nights € 128 including breakfast and free use of wellness area.
After we had now arrived so on Friday night at the hotel and our car could return free for the entire time on a car park, we were greeted kindly and went to our room. Also this has convinced us completely!
Spacious, nicely furnished and with a large, bright tiled bathroom - first class!
The first evening we use to clean a little down after Berlin. Our goal was a big shopping center - so we are now times :-) In the end we opted for the castle Steglitz, which from our point of eingermaßen easy to reach for Berlin by car was about ... 20 - 25 minutes.

The shopping center appealed to us is good, but we were of, but then long drive through the numerous traffic jams and detours, right break and went relatively quickly on the way to the hotel.
The Saturday morning started very early (it made us aware then also later than the second day with bacon and sausage in the early morning hours, the tense pants) with a truly sumptuous breakfast, where we have missed anything.
We were then at 9:00 on the clock path to the S-Bahn - this is perhaps the only catch of the hotel, because this is about 2 km from the hotel (there is however a shuttle bus to the hotel, which is calculated with 4 €, when it is used).
In about 25 minutes, we went first to the Potsdamer Platz. There we got out ... and discovered incredible things: the first Christmas market of the season! On 30/10/2010! We suspect that because Berlin agrees with the retailers: Christmas can not start early enough!

shopping spree at Potsdamer Platz -> Continue to Ku'damm -> Shopping spree at Ku'damm (DESIGUAL!) -> this was now but only intermediate objectives, as the real main reason for the trip this time was the visit of the only true capital club ;-)
the stadium of Hertha we arrived at 12 clock - thanks to the family-friendly kick-off times in the second league.

After the game we drove back to the Kurfürstendamm, eat at the now almost become a ritual pizza at the Italian Center in Europe - always good, and (really the most important sampling frame) not to full. At least not on our chosen meal times - at Vapiano we got the door to spot.
Even a short visit to the KaDeWe department store to buy hearts of palm (in Germany we have only found there - or at Amazon) and a short stroll through the Christmas market at the Potsdamer Platz, was it for us even back to the hotel.
We had planned to use the aforementioned spa, but fell exhausted into bed at 20:00 clock and remained there until the next morning.
On Sunday, it should go to the zoo .... but then to a separate report in our "Zoo". There

Our rating
trigger it for what are long distance of the hotel of the city (which, however, had the advantage of being there very quietly lived) and that the downtown Berlin is surprisingly packed on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon :-)
PS: If anyone on the outcome of the game Hertha - Ingolstadt is interested ... Hertha won 3-1!
